Visualization. It’s one of those terms you pretty much have to live under a rock to escape these days. People tout it like the next cure-all miracle pill, but believe it or not there really is something to all the hype. Visualization can be a powerful tool to help build the life and business of your wildest dreams, but it’s a tool that must be utilized with intention, heart, and authenticity to be effective.

WHAT’S IN A VISUALIZATION?

What most don’t know about visualization is that it takes mindfulness and commitment to manifest and reach for what you want. Trust me; I’ve been around the visualizing block a time or two. I like to say I’ve been friends with the Universe since I was little, even before I knew what to call it for myself.  I have always had this sense of togetherness, of being in tune with the world around me. When I was 8 years old, I visualized myself having a stomach ache so I could get out of school. The next morning, I was sick to my stomach. Not exactly the most exciting and fun way to realize the power of visualization, but a lesson nonetheless.

Nowadays, I’m a little more skilled in my visualization (and a bit more thoughtful about how I use it!). There are so many ways to bring visualization into your business and life in positive ways. It can start with something as simple as creating a list from a heart-centered place. When you create the roadmap for your day with a list, make sure you’re building it in a space where you feel connected with your head, heart and body. Fear can’t live in the heart center, so if you’re coming from that space, the forces come together to help you and you’ll be amazed by how powerful it is.

HOW TO MAKE IT WORK FOR YOU

If you’re trying to visualize something a little more specific like an outcome to a particular situation or a step you would like to make in your business, try this. Close your eyes and picture it in your mind’s eye as if it’s already happening. Focus on making the visualization as detailed as possible. What will you say, how will you carry yourself, and most importantly, how will you physically feel when you’re living it? Make sure your inner dialogue when you think about this outcome is that you already have it, not that you want it. Sometimes it’s helpful to have an affirmation on hand to repeat to yourself throughout the day that supports the visualization. Something as simple as “I am living in complete alignment with my full potential” can be a great boost to any visualization.

DON’T FORGET GRATITUDE

You’ll hear me talk about gratitude a lot and that’s because it’s key to success and fulfillment. But it’s also important to go about your life as you work toward your goals; the physical element (the body) is important too. Dwelling or obsessing over what you want doesn’t allow the universe space to provide.  When we grip or clench whether it’s mentally, emotionally or even physically, we no longer come from of place of gratitude but of fear.

Before you know it the opportunity you’re looking for will be right in front of you. Don’t be surprised when it doesn’t look exactly like you expected. Often the Universe will hand you an unexpected version of what you wanted, but it’s always what you need.

Keep in mind that visualization is just like any other skill; you have to practice

regularly to become more attuned. Before you know it, you’ll find yourself overflowing with not only abundance but also an endless amount of gratitude. And lastly, don’t forget to thank yourself for being open and the Universe for providing.

Very nice article. Love creates everything but this part seems to be the hardest part for human beings to do. In other words in order to be of that love vibration we have to let go of everything that does not serve us any longer. For example guilt, shame, I am not worth it, I am not smart enough or pretty enough, I don’t have enough.. All this is baggage that has to be dropped. Loving ourselves first, is the biggest lesson we will have to learn. When we love ourselves we feel abundant, there will be no sense of lack, no feeling of low self-confidence, no doubts, no lack of will power, no fear at all.

Here are some tips on how to love yourself.

Treat yourself like your best friend.

Be proud of yourself for what you have accomplished.

Stop criticizing yourself. (Every cell in your body is listening).

Give yourself some time. We get so caught up with our daily lives that we forget to take time for ourselves. 15 minutes every day lie down and tell yourself “I love myself. I love myself just the way I am.”

Mirror exercise: Give yourself compliments. “I am looking great”.

If you change the negative picture of yourself you will become your best friend.and attract everything to you to have a fulfilled life.

    With much love.

I totally agree with you Angela. We need to love ourselves first before we can actually love someone else. Thank you for the great tips on how to love yourself!
